What a magnificent sight! I watched hundreds of migrating Sandhill Cranes lift off from their stopover spot in Sunnidale Township early this afternoon. Hopefully they're well on their way south now, before snow squalls hit at the end of the week!
The large sedge of migratiing Sandhill Cranes lifted off in three waves, filling the sky with their graceful bodies and raucous calls, a breathtaking sight!
I was surprised yesterday to find the largest number of migrating Sandhill Cranes that I've seen yet, at the stopover spot in Sunnidale Township. Fortunately for me, I was in time to see the whole sedge lift off! What a sight, (and sound)! I hope they're well on their way now as we're expecting heavy snow squalls by Friday!
