The three day old cygnets seemed to be handling the choppy bay pretty well. It's amazing how instinctively they follow their parents.
I took this shot of the four day old cygnet yesterday. Photographically speaking it's not one of my better swan photos. However, it's one of my personal favoutites. At four days old the little cygnet appeared ready to take on the world, reaching up and flapping its tiny wings. I love its of 'joie de vivre'!
The mute swan family has left the nest for good now. At five days old, the cygnets seem to be coping well living on the bay. The family led me on a merry chase this morning! At times they were clearly visible from the trail. Other times I had to clamber over rocks and through bush to get a good vantage point.
