Jan. 20, 2016. I post this photo, not because it's particularly good, but to show you what it's like trying to find a snowy owl. Our snow is late this winter and has come mostly in squalls, strong north-westerly bands off the bay. Spotting an owl means scanning acres of white, in blowing snow, trying to spot a lump that's a bit out of place. So far this winter I've seen only females, and don't they blend in well!
