Golden Morning
I don't ask for the meaning of the song of a bird or the rising of the sun on a misty morning. There they are, and they are beautiful. ~ Pete Hamill
Yet One Smile More
Yet one smile more, departing, distant sun! Yet one rich smile, and we will try to bear The piercing winter frost, and winds, and darkened air. ~William Cullen Bryant
Stately November
“November is usually such a disagreeable month...as if the year had suddenly found out that she was growing old and could do nothing but weep and fret over it. This year is growing old gracefully...just like a stately old lady who knows she can be charming even with gray hair and wrinkles.” ~L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Avonlea
As the Sun Sets on Autumn
I love this poem by Stanley Horowitz: "Winter is an etching, spring a watercolor, summer an oil painting and autumn a mosaic of them all." We're reaching the point now where the etching is emerging from the mosaic.
Time to Go
This is a composite of an intentional motion blur, a quick pan up the trees in the forest, blended with a shot of the flock of geese that flew into the scene moments later.
Ride Upon the Wind
Sept. 15, 2015. Come Fairies, take me out of this dull world, for I would ride with you upon the wind and dance upon the mountains like a flame! ~William Butler Yeats
Go Fly a Kite
While my camera saw beautiful kites in the sky behind Collingwood's Grain Terminals during last weekend's Kitefest, my mind's eye saw sea creatures. An added texture layer gave my mind's eye the upper hand!
Washed Out
A day here and there curled up with a book and the sound of a gentle rain can be enjoyable. This weather, however, is starting to look like too much of a good thing.
My peonies are late bloomers, but I fear with all the rain we've had this week they'll be washed out before they even have a chance to bloom.
Hydrangea
Nothing is blooming outdoors, but this potted hydrangea holds the promise of Spring.
Earth Hour 2015
This is the eighth year of the annual event to raise awareness of climate change. Did you participate?

A duck takes off from one of Collingwood's urban drainage ponds.
Evensong
Even though the temperature struggled to surpass the freezing mark, this little robin chirped his heart out as the sun set.
Colouring Spring #2
Dreaming of Spring colour
Colouring Spring #1
I'm starting to wonder if maybe this will be the only way I'll get to see Spring colour this year.

Fixer-Upper
The grungiest bird house I've ever seen inspired me to add a grungy background texture to simulate the sky.
The Ski Train
My abstract version of the sculpted clay mural by Richard Gill, depicting the arrival of the 1950’s ski train, carrying passengers bound for the ski hills, at Craigleith Station.

Blaze of Glory
The process of decay has already started in this little leaf, but it's going out in a blaze of glory just the same.
Vineyard
Taken at the Georgian Hills Vineyard on Grey County Rd. 2 in The Blue Mountains. I applied a subtle texture to add warmth and soften detail.
Monarch Nostalgia
A whole summer without monarch butterflies! I reprocessed this image , shot in my garden last summer, to give it a nostalgic painterly feel. (2013-08-30.)

Canada geese flying over Collingwood Harbour. I added a texture blend for a vintage feel.

I added a texture blend to this pic to give it a painterly feel.
