2011 - Day 21. Jan. 21, 2011. Daily Shoot - Take color out of the equation and make a monochromatic photograph today. ( http://dailyshoot.com/assignments/432 ) . When you mention 'The Village' around Collingwood, you're usually referring to the Village at Blue Mountain. This collection of ice fishing huts on the frozen harbour looks like a village to me. The picture perfectly illustrates what happens when a snow squall blows in across the bay. The wind picks up, the clouds laden with moisture from Georgian Bay blow in, and we get dumped on. I hope the fishermen were warm in their little huts, because it was really windy and cold! I think this shot is monochromatic as is. (The hut on the far left had a beautiful red door, so I desaturated the red channel). I tried converting the photo to black and white, but it loses the effect of the squall line pushing out the blue skies.
Daily Shoot - How low can you go? Make a photograph today from a low point of view ( http://dailyshoot.com/assignments/431 ) . The best foot this winter is one clad in a snowshoe.
2010 - Day 328. Nov. 24, 2010. Daily Shoot - Illustrate the process or thought of traveling today, possibly by documenting your own travels ( http://dailyshoot.com/assignments/374 ) . The only traveling I did today was on foot - a brisk walk on the trail in Harbourview Park. You may be wondering if I got trampled taking this shot ;-). Fortunately no! I took the shot from the bottom of the stairs that exit the boardwalk.
