2010 - Day 123. May 3, 2010. Daily Shoot - Make a composition of a wall and what is against it: art, shelves, etc. Consider the rule of thirds and watch your light ( http://dailyshoot.com/assignments/169 ) . The mural, "Heading Dockside", painted by Beverley Smith in 2000, depicts shift change at the now defunct Collingwood Shipyards. The mural adorns the east wall of the historic building that is now the sales centre for The Shipyards condo/commercial waterfront development.
2010 - Day 117. Apr. 27, 2010. Daily Shoot - We get energy from a variety of sources. Make a photograph of the energy that's most important to you ( http://dailyshoot.com/assignments/163 ) . I set out to get a picture of moving water for this challenge and decided to head to the Slabtown dam on the Beaver River in Clarksburg. What's that idiom? You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear? Well the light was just wrong! Even with my polarizing filter, it was simply the wrong time of day to shoot water flowing over the dam. I hiked along the river instead and came across this view. There's nothing as energizing as the vivid blues and greens of spring!
2010 - Day 113. Apr. 23, 2010. Daily Shoot - Train your eye to look for repetition. Make a photo of a repeating subject while considering composition and DOF ( http://dailyshoot.com/assignments/159 ) . I'm not a skier so I don't often go up to the Village at Blue Mountain. I used today's Daily Shoot challenge as an excuse to visit, browse the shops, and enjoy a drink in the sun in one of the colourful Muskoka chairs that line the pond. Thanks guys at Daily Shoot! It was a gorgeous morning and I really needed the break!
